Inspired by the European tradition of classical figure painting and sculpture, Katriel Srebnik continues to reinvent the genre and be a leader in the resurgence of beautiful, sensual nudes. His nude and draped figures combine a knowledge of anatomy, fine draughtsmanship and composition of Classical, Baroque, Rococo and Nineteenth Century art; the light, atmosphere, brushwork and luscious paint quality of Impressionism; the harmonic color of Tonalism; the poetic distillation of Asian decorative painting and other aesthetic concepts. These elements are all orchestrated and dramatized in Srebnik’s figure paintings with strong composition and design.

Srebnik has taught figure painting at art workshop schools across the U.S., and at his own art schools.
